In the north west area of Pompeii, with a garden view of Vesuvius, was a house the size of a palace. This is the largest house discovered inside the walls of Pompeii. Found inside was a chest of coins, jewelry made from gold, as well as furniture of sculpted marble. Its floors were decorated with intricate mosaics, including what has been described as a masterpiece of ancient art. We will search for meaning in these mosaics, go through some of the ancient roman household objects, as well as clues to the identity of its last inhabitants who died carrying valuables, trying to escape the eruption.
