Despite being the largest rainforest on Earth, much of the Amazon jungle remains unexplored. Due to its vast size and difficult terrain, it is estimated that only a small fraction of the Amazon has been thoroughly explored by humans.
According to a study published in the journal Nature Communications in twenty eighteen, researchers used satellite data to estimate the amount of unexplored territory in the Amazon. They found that approximately sixty eight percent of the Amazon rainforest is still covered in dense forest and has not been affected by human activity.
