Turkish Archaeologists Unearth The Theater in The Ancient City of Perinthos

Turkish Archaeologists continue to work to unearth the largest theater in Thrace, located in the Ancient City of Perinthos.

Head of the excavation Prof Dr Zeynep Koçel Erdem stated that the excavations are continuing in the stage building section and said, “We reached the traces of the steps located between the rows of seats at a depth of 4.5 meters, and this is very pleasing.”

Excavations started 2 years ago to uncover the Perinthos Ancient City continue. The theater, which is stated to be the largest in Thrace, was unearthed among the ruins found in the 1.5 kilometers long and 500 meters wide area on the hill of the city.
